I have been searching some long trans-atlantic flights from Europe to South America, and have found something to improve in these searches.
Sometimes, the connections shown do not only change of airlines, but also of alliances. So, for example, a flight from Amsterdam to Montevideo does the following:
ALITALIA - AMS-FCO
ALITALIA - FCO-GRU
LATAM - GRU-MVD
The problem here, is that ALITALIA is not allied with LATAM. So, the person should personally take care that the luggage is brought to LATAM's plane.
Now, if the waiting time between ALITALIA's and LATAM's planes is less than, lets say 2 hours, it is extremely difficult to obtain the luggage and change it of planes within such a big airport as GRU (Sao Paulo).
Maybe, in a future, a "luggage option" could be selected as filter. If anybody plans to fly without luggage, this combination is fine. But for anyone else, it would be impossible.
The problem of not having this filter, is that it becomes anoying to select choices, as each time I check one of them, I have to see that it is not possible to really do it. And in case of transatlantic travellers, it is normal to take big luggage with them as low-cost travellers are still not the usual ones (there aren't many airlines yet).
What do you think?
